For me, the only lowlight was that Patti LaBelle, who really lit up the ballroom each week and did far better than I thought she would, was eliminated. But that’s the way of a competition. In two weeks, it will be “Audience Choice Night” and viewers are now being asked to request particular dances and costumes and such. And next week, there will be a double elimination — yikes! It sounds like they are trying to weed out the weaker dancers, heading for the finals. Two announcements came out recently that, beginning next week, there will be a performance show Monday night and then an elimination on Tuesday night. This format is scheduled to continue through the two-night finale May 18 and 19. And that there will be a 10th anniversary special, with many former champs and competitors returning, tentatively May 14. Wow.
